Pink Vail Aids Cancer Survivors

Pink Vail 2014 will take place on April 5 atop Vail Mountain near Eagle's Nest. In just two years Pink Vail has become the world's biggest ski day to conquer cancer and is one of the fastest growing cancer-related events in the country. In 2013 the event raised over $350000 and hosted 1300 participants from 36 states ranging from 3 years old to 86 — and it made a difference!

Pink Vail is a fun-filled day with crazy costumes ton of energy and live music but the best part of Pink Vail is where the money goes. Pink Vail funds created a program called “Spirit of Survival” which helps all cancer patients at Shaw Regional Cancer Center ease the pains associated with cancer treatment and helps survivors create and maintain a healthy lifestyle to stay cancer-free. The mind and body program provides emotional support free fitness classes nutrition counseling and cooking classes healing outdoor adventures and much more.

One Big Family
“They make you feel like a large part of a big family” said survivor Victor Galko. “I'm in better shape now than before I had cancer and it's just so good for your soul and for your health to have all these people surrounding you and motiving you.”

To date Pink Vail has raised over $650000 and helped hundreds of Eagle County survivors in their journey to become and stay cancer-free.

Pink Vail supports cancer patients receiving treatment in our community and is made a success each year by dedicated businesses and members of our community. Pink Vail's biggest partner Vail Resorts Echo/Vail Mountain has donated food beverages marketing and staff assistance as well as great prizes totaling over $30000 in support in 2014.
