On December 7, 2021, the Eagle County Commissioners approved Vail Health’s applications to amend the Planned Unit Development (PUD) that currently regulates land use of its Northstar Center property, located at 429/439 Edwards Access Road. The focal point of these approved amendments is to allow for the development of a new building dedicated exclusively to behavioral health. The approved amendments also modify permitted uses to allow for a range of health care-related uses and allow for additional future development to ensure that Vail Health can provide necessary health care to residents and guests of the Eagle River Valley.

Progress
With the government approvals now secured, Vail Health will begin finalizing the construction drawings with the intention of selecting a general contractor during winter 2021-2022. The goal is to begin construction on the in-patient, behavioral health facility in summer 2022. The comprehensive community health campus already provides valuable services to the community, as the following organizations already operate in current buildings on the property: Colorado Mountain Medical outpatient behavioral health, the Community Market, My Future Pathways, and MIRA. Additional non-profit partners will be moving into additional spaces in the coming months. In The News
