About the opportunity:

The Patient Access Supervisor will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Patient Access team under the direction of the Patient Access Manager. The Supervisor will be responsible for the supervision of staff which includes the assigning of tasks and ensuring the timely and accurate completion of work. This role also provides education and training for all team members.

 
What you will do:
  1. Prepares monthly staffing schedules for all employees and ensures all areas have adequate coverage for each shift every day. Reviews and approves staff timekeeping on a bi-weekly basis for direct reports.
  2. Provides ongoing education and training for all team members, ensuring employees meet all competency requirements, including customer service expectations and all relevant policies.
  3. Monitors all registration reports and performs audits on a weekly basis or other frequency as directed. Reports results and any feedback for process improvement to staff and manager.
  4. Acts as a subject matter expert and super-user in all registration applications, workflows, and procedures. Regularly works within the standard duties of Patient Access Representative to fill in scheduling gaps and stay current in workflows and understanding registration challenges and the patient experience.
  5. Possesses high knowledge of the billing process and managed care contracts in order to explain patients’ benefits. Works with the billing department to ensure the timely and accurate completion of registrations and charge entry. Follows up with staff on a timely basis on findings and takes corrective action as appropriate.
  6. Shares after hours call coverage for the Patient Access Department with the Patient Access Manager
  7.  Assists Patient Access Manager with employee relations matters within the team.
  8. Works with Patient Access Manager to track and communicate department goals and objectives.
  9. Enforces and promotes Vail Health Values and Patient Experience. Role models the principles of a Just Culture
  10. Performs other duties as assigned. Must be HlPAA compliant.

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • Two years of health care experience in a patient access environment, required. 
  • Must be able to manage the operational flow of a medical setting and demonstrate critical decision making to successfully meet operational goals. 
  • Supervisory experience, preferred.

License(s):

  • N/A
Certification(s):
  • Patient Access Management Certification, preferred.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay:
$24.11$34.25 USD
