Sterile Processing Lead

About the opportunity:

Under direct or indirect supervision follows the approved infection control and sterile processing policies and procedures. Directs day to day operations, facilitates priorities, collects, cleans, sorts, decontaminates, checks for functionally, assembles, and restocks surgical instrumentation.

 
What you will do:
  1. Performs cleaning and sterilization techniques based on established standards of practice.
  2. Keeps all instruments sets clean, complete, functioning correctly, and sterile.
  3. Monitors shift to assure all Sterile Processing standard procedures are done correctly.
  4. Acquires, uses, and manages information and staff to establish priorities for effective time and resource utilization to achieve established objectives.
  5. Demonstrates careful, efficient use of supplies and linen to facilitate quality care and cost efficiency.
  6. Encourages cooperation and teamwork between staff and departments.
  7. Seeks additional educational opportunities and shares knowledge by serving as a preceptor or role model to new employees.
  8. Documents sterile processes in log books. Ensures accuracy of all documentation related to SPD.
  9. Communicate with all customers at a high level, anticipate needs, and resolve opportunities quickly and efficiently.
  10. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Vail Health Values.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • Two years of Sterile Processing experience and experience with Joint Commission requirements required.
License(s):
  • N/A
Certification(s):
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required.
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.

Hourly Pay:
$25.34$38.02 USD

Some roles may be based outside of our Colorado office (remote-only positions). Roles based outside of our primary office can sit in any of the following states: AZ, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI. Please only apply if you are able to live and work primarily in one of the states listed above.
