Sonographer - Seasonal

• Performs all ultrasound examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
• Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, sends completed examinations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
• Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
• Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
• Maintains constructive, collaborative communication with patients, patients’ families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
• Determines the best method of obtaining exams with minimal or no supervision.
• Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
• Maintains working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
• Monitors supply inventory and notifies appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low.
• Keeps exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat

- Previous experience performing radiographic and ultrasound examinations preferred.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS by the American Registry of Diagnostic medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Sonography (S) credential required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Completion of all educational and clinical requirements to qualify for ARRT or ARDMS examination.
Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
