Biography

Andrew Cohen, MD, FACC, FHRS joined Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates in 1989 and enjoys the team atmosphere of the practice. According to Dr. Cohen, “there are many times at ADCA that we often draw on one another’s skills and knowledge to improve patient care.” He is board-certified in cardiology, internal medicine and cardiac electrophysiology.
 
During his fellowship training, Dr. Cohen developed a deep interest in heart rhythm disorders and decided to specialize in this area of medicine blending basic scientific knowledge and clinical work in a unique way.
 
Before joining the ADCA team, Dr. Cohen practiced in well-known facilities on the East Coast, including Georgetown University, National Naval Medical Center, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Johns Hopkins University and the VA Hospital in Washington D.C. He was also involved with the initial studies on antitachycardia pacemakers and the first implantable defibrillators. He has participated in multiple pharmacologic trials for antiarrhythmic drugs and has been performing catheter ablations since 1985.
 
In his spare time, Dr. Cohen enjoys hiking, skiing and going to comedy clubs.
