About the opportunity:
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for the overall coordination of the clinical functions of the inpatient setting. Primary job duties to provide direct patient care involving evaluation, treatment, assessment and education of adaptive equipment and devices, communication with hospital interdisciplinary team members, and family/ caregiver education as appropriate. The Occupational Therapist creates an environment and culture that enables the hospital to fulfill its mission by providing patient safety and patient-centered treatment.
We are seeking a PRN clinician to join our team in the acute care setting, with coverage primarily needed on weekends and weekdays. Ideally, the candidate would also be available to provide as-needed support in our outpatient department.
What you will do:
- Provides skilled occupational therapy in accordance with physician plan of care. Assist in assessing patients’ functional level by applying appropriate tests and measures in the development and revision of plan of care.
- Promotes and has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to physical, psychosocial and developmental needs for neonatal, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
- Establish occupational therapy interventions based upon the evaluation and examination, physician orders, life roles, and patient goals for therapy.
- Provides care relating to the needs of patients in multiple areas including but not limited to; Patient Care Unit, Patient Acute Care Unit, Intensive Care Unit, Surgical/Medical Centers, and Obstetrics Department (if qualified to do so per specific MD order).
- Educates and instructs patient, family or care givers in the phases of occupational therapy in which they may assist the client; instructs in the use of prosthetics, splint wear and care, orthotic devices and durable medical equipment as appropriate to ensure safe and successful discharge. Will be responsible for developing skills to independently fabricate common static splits per MD order.
- Treats patient to relieve pain, develop and restore function and maintain maximum individualized performance using occupational therapy treatments, modalities, and procedures as described in the occupational therapy plan of care.
- Develops and maintains individualized patient progress records including change of status with accuracy; communicates change of condition to involved staff.
- Submits appropriate documentation and billing by end of treatment day.
- Participates in continuing education course, in-service presentations for clinical staff including non-therapist staff and reviews professional publications.

- Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

- Ability to obtain and maintain a State of Colorado Occupational Therapy license.
Certification(s):
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$39.34—$55.57 USD
