What you will do:
  1. Use intravenous, local, caudal or spinal methods to administer sedation or pain medications during surgical and other medical procedures
  2. Supervise patients and monitor their pain medications before, during and after surgery; offset adverse complications or reactions; record amount and type of anesthesia as well as the patients’ conditions throughout procedures
  3. Determine risk during medical procedures by taking medical histories, examining patients and ordering diagnostic procedures like x-rays and laboratory tests; discuss with other healthcare professionals about the method and type of anesthetic to make patients numb to pain
  4. Provide and sustain airway management and life support during emergency surgery
  5. Monitor patients post-surgery and determine when they are stabilized enough to move to another room or go home
  6. Manage anesthesiological services and coordinate with other professionals to formulate procedures and plans; direct the duties of medical technicians, nurses and other healthcare support staff
  7. Educate patients and families on post-procedure care and possible complications; instruct on different ways to prevent disease and improve health

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • Minimum of five years of experience as anesthesiologist, required
  • Skilled at epidurals, spinals and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia, required
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, required
  • Experience in supervisory position, preferred
  • Excellent communication skills, preferred
  • Team player, preferred

 

Certification(s):
  • Board certified in anesthesiology
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
  • Proficient with Microsoft programs like excel, word, teams, power point is required.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
 
Education:
  • Doctor of Medicine degree with anesthesiology residency, required 

 

The Hospitalist is a key role in the organization and is responsible for clinical management of the Vail Health patients.

What you will do:
    1. Manage patients through the continuum of hospital care, consults on patients in the emergency department and provides patient care in the PCU and ICU
    2. Provide consultative services for various physician teams.
    3. Work with clinical team comprised of registered nurses and care tech.
    4. Participates in the implementation of appropriate clinical protocols.
    5. Uses available reports, medical records, and on site observation to review and improve the quality of care delivered by team members.
    6. Provide training to clinical care tech and registered nursing staff as needed.
    7. Ensure accuracy of provider coding and documentation.
    8. Assures medical involvement in the development, approval, and review of all policies, procedures, and protocols governing clinical care.
    9. Monitor and manage patient satisfaction scores.
    10. Collaborate with operations team to resolve patient care complaints and grievances.
    11. Other duties may be required based on hospital specific requirements or needs.
    12. Attend Quarterly Medical Staff Meetings
    13. Role models the principles of a Just Culture.
    14. Performs other duties as assigned.  Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience:
  • Completion or pending completion of Internal Medicine residency.
  • Clinical experience in a hospitalist position preferred but not required
License(s):
  • A license to practice medicine in the state of Colorado.
  • A current DEA registration number.
Certification(s):
  • Board Certification/Board Eligibility Internal Medicine.
  • BLS/ACLS by American Heart Association, required
Computer / Typing:
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computer skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
 
Education:
  • Completion or pending completion of Internal Medicine residency. Must be BC or BE.

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per year.

Yearly Pay:
