About the opportunity:
 
Perform adult and pediatric echocardiograms (2D, M-Mode, and Doppler). Also perform cardiac stress testing, Echo stress, Dobutamine Echo stress, Nuclear stress, and GXT.
 
This position is PRN or as needed.  Eligible for 16% PRN Shift differential.
 
What you will do:
  • Perform all Echocardiography examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
  • Review each examination for technical accuracy, send completed examinations to cardiologist, and communicate pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
  • Perform adult, pediatric, and infant echocardiography exams (2D, M-Mode, and Doppler).
  • Perform all forms of cardiac stress testing: Echo stress, Dobutamine Echo stress, Nuclear stress testing, and GXT, including pre-exercise evaluation, reviewing documentation, and post-exercise visualization of all pertinent myocardial structures.
  • Assist the cardiologist with Trans-Esophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
  • Monitor inventory of supplies and orders when stock is low.
  • Keep the exam room stocked and neat.
  • Identify each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
  • Review consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
  • Maintain constructive collaborative communication with patients, families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
  • Maintain established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, radiation protection standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
  • Maintain working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
  • Participate in departmental and team meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you will need:
 
Experience:
  • 2 years of experience preferred.
License(s)/ Certification(s):

  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by The American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required
