About the opportunity:
Operates ultrasound units to obtain images for the use in the diagnosis and treatment of pathologies. Positions patients, assists physicians, and provides for patient and staff safety. Ensures that files and records are properly completed.
What you will do:
- Performs all ultrasound examinations according to Vail Health protocols.
- Reviews each examination for technical accuracy, sends completed examinations to radiologist, and communicates pertinent data to persons responsible for the care of the patient following the procedure.
- Identifies each patient and reviews exam order for consistency of examination ordered with clinical diagnosis.
- Reviews consistency of all demographic information including physician’s name and signature, patient’s name, and date.
- Maintains constructive, collaborative communication with patients, patients’ families, physicians, co-workers, and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care.
- Determines the best method of obtaining exams with minimal or no supervision.
- Maintains established department policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality assurance, safety, environmental standards, infection control standards, and universal precautions.
- Maintains working knowledge and use of the Vail Health HIS and PACS computer systems to ensure quality patient documentation.
- Monitors supply inventory and notifies appropriate staff for ordering when stock is low.
- Keeps exam and dressing rooms stocked and neat.
- Role models the principles of Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Must be HIPAA compliant.

What you will need:
Experience:
- Previous experience performing radiographic and ultrasound examinations preferred.
License(s)/ Certification(s):
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS by the American Registry of Diagnostic medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with Sonography (S) credential required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required

Pay is based upon relevant education and experience per hour.
Hourly Pay:
$44.64—$61.60 USD
