Biography

Dr. Susan Mikaelian is a board-certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (FACOG). She earned her medical degree from Loyola University in Chicago and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston University Medical Center.

Prior to relocating to Colorado, Dr. Mikaelian practiced at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, where she combined clinical care with medical education and teaching. She now cares for patients in Colorado Springs and is proud to be part of the Vail Health community.

Dr. Mikaelian has a special interest in gynecology and advanced minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. She has pursued specialized surgical training with a focus on surgical innovation and pelvic organ prolapse repair. Her expertise includes robotic surgery for conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, pelvic organ prolapse, and the treatment of urinary incontinence.

Passionate about women’s health, Dr. Mikaelian is committed to providing compassionate, individualized care through every stage of life—from adolescence and reproductive years through menopause and beyond. She considers it a privilege to partner with women to achieve their health and wellness goals. In addition to her gynecologic expertise, Dr. Mikaelian continues to provide comprehensive obstetric care and is honored to guide patients through pregnancy, labor, and delivery. 

A Boston native, Dr. Mikaelian relocated to Colorado Springs in 2009 with her family and has embraced Colorado’s outdoor lifestyle. She and her husband have four sons and two labradoodles, and they enjoy spending time in the mountains hiking, skiing, snowboarding, and cycling.
