Biography

Kelsey Benjamin grew up in Nevada City, California, where she developed a passion for outdoor adventure while spending time in the Sierras with her family. Her experiences navigating several orthopedic injuries as a young ski racer ultimately inspired her to pursue nursing, where she found a career rooted in compassionate, patient-centered care. Throughout her nursing career, she has worked in perioperative, medical-surgical, and emergency care settings, shaping her appreciation for both the treatment of acute illness and the importance of preventive care.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Kelsey enjoys caring for patients across the lifespan and building meaningful relationships that support long-term health and continuity of care. She believes the best care starts with truly listening, then combining evidence-based medicine with an understanding of each patient’s values, goals, and experiences. Having lived in the Vail Valley for more than 10 years, she has served the community as an EMT, ski patroller, and nurse at Vail Valley Surgery Center. After several years in Southwest Montana, she is excited to reconnect with new and old community members.

Kelsey lives in Edwards with her husband, young daughter, and their dog. Outside of work, she enjoys running, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, fishing, and cooking alongside her husband. She is grateful to be raising her daughter in the mountains and sharing the same beauty and sense of community that first drew her to the Valley.
