Managing Your Care
Yes. Online scheduling is available through MyChart for many of our services.
Depending on the type of care you need, you may be able to:
- Schedule as a new patient with participating services by choosing a provider, location, date and time that works for you.
- Schedule with a provider you already see by selecting your established provider and an available appointment time.
One thing to know as we transition to Epic: If you are an existing patient, you may need to call us to schedule your first appointment with your established provider. Once you’ve had an appointment with that provider, online scheduling with them will become available in MyChart.
Not all appointment types are available for online scheduling. If you don’t see the option you’re looking for, please call the appropriate clinic and we’ll be happy to help.
Yes. When you schedule an appointment, if available you can request to receive a text or email if an earlier appointment becomes available.
MyChart messages are for non-urgent, general questions about your care. Your care team will generally respond within two business days.
MyChart messages are not monitored for emergencies or urgent medical needs. If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
MyChart will send a notice to your email or App when test results are posted in your MyChart account. With MyChart, you can view most test results as soon as they become available. You will likely see results before your healthcare provider has had a chance to review them. After your provider reviews your results, you might see additional comments and interpretation in MyChart.
Yes. Once your MyChart account is set up, click the Medications image at the top of the page and choose the medication you wish to refill. Follow the prompts on screen to refill.
If there are issues, the portal will provide a pharmacy phone number to call for help.
We are dedicated to improving your healthcare access and will continue to monitor patient needs and enhance the MyChart portal whenever necessary.

Información del proveedor
Vail Health is transitioning to MyChart by Epic on October 3, 2026, bringing our care network onto a single electronic medical record platform. This transition will make it easier for patients to access and manage their health information while supporting more connected care across Vail Health. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about the transition, referrals, medical records, and working with Vail Health after the change.
Epic Care Link & Referrals
At this time, the process to refer a patient to Vail Health remains the same. The communication with a Vail Health provider is enhanced through Vail Health Epic Care Link.
Epic Care Link connects your clinic with the Vail Health care team caring for your patient(s). You should have received emails from Vail Health and UCHealth with instructions on how to connect your practice with Vail Health’s Epic Care Link. If you did not receive an email from UCHealth with instructions, please download this Provider Connection Access Form, fill in the information and email it to providerconnection@uchealth.org.
If you have questions, please reach out to UCHealth at providerconnection@uchealth.org.
Provider-to-provider communication should continue through established channels, such as telephone, fax, or other referral and care coordination workflows. Clinics participating in Epic Provider Connection will have the ability to communicate with Vail Health providers using secure Epic In Basket messaging.
Providers outside of Vail Health cannot access a patient’s Vail Health MyChart account. If your patient shares information from their MyChart account with you, you may review that information as appropriate. For clinical records, continue to use established referral and records request processes with Vail Health, or Epic Care Link if your organization participates.
Yes. Providers outside of Vail Health will continue to have access to their patients’ historical Vail Health records by following the existing medical records request process. Vail Health will maintain its legacy EMRs through December 31, 2026, followed by read-only access for authorized Vail Health staff through October 31, 2027. After the legacy systems are retired, patient records will be maintained in a clinical archive in accordance with Vail Health’s medical record retention policies. The process for requesting patient records will remain unchanged throughout this transition. Additional information on requesting medical records is available on the Vail Health Medical Records page.
Yes. As part of the transition to Epic, Vail Health will retire its legacy Cerner and Veradigm electronic medical records portals. The legacy EMRs will remain operational through December 31, 2026, followed by read-only access for authorized Vail Health staff through October 31, 2027. After that, historical patient records will be maintained in a clinical archive in accordance with Vail Health’s medical record retention policies. This transition will not change the process for outside providers to request patient records through Vail Health Health Information Management (Registros médicos).
The MyChart Transition

MyChart improves engagement, enhances communication, and makes it easier for patients to stay informed and actively participate in managing their health.

Yes. MyChart by Epic is designed to improve patient understanding of their treatment plans and support better continuity of care between your practice and Vail Health while reducing workload and calls to your office. MyChart provides patients with secure, online access to all of their health information, appointments, test results, and care instructions across the Vail Health care network.
Your clinic can access your patient’s Vail Health care team and records through Epic Care Link.
MyChart offers patients a comprehensive view of their healthcare that includes upcoming and past appointments, provider visits and notes, lab results, imaging results and billing in one secure place. Additionally, they can share a secure link with you to their MyChart records and Vail Health care plan, and you can directly communicate with their Vail Health physician to discuss care and prognosis.
Your care team is welcome to mention this to your patients. Vail Health will run a comprehensive marketing and communications effort to educate patient populations about MyChart and how to set up a MyChart account. If you would like to provide information to your patients, please let them know that they can get details and find out how to sign up at VailHealth.org/MyChart. This website offers links for MyChart activation, FAQs, helpful resources and more. All materials and resources are available in English and Spanish.
As several Colorado health systems have done, Vail Health partnered with UCHealth to adopt this innovative EMR platform for our patients and community health care referral partners. We are not affiliated or associated with UCHealth. Vail Health is a privately-owned nonprofit 501(c)(3) community health care system.
Medical Records & Legacy Systems
Some information, including problems, allergies, medications and immunizations, will transfer to MyChart. Other information, including scanned records, test results, imaging and previous messages, will not automatically transfer to the new MyChart account. Patients should download any pertinent records they may need and can share them with you as appropriate. Vail Health will continue to maintain historical medical records according to its established retention policies.
Information such as problems, allergies, medications and immunizations (PAMIs) will transfer into your patients’ MyChart account. Current records, scans, test results, etc., will not automatically transfer into Vail Health MyChart accounts. We are recommending that patients download any pertinent results, imaging or messages from their current electronic medical record to share with you and their Vail Health doctors. Vail Health care teams can upload into their MyChart account any records, images and results patients bring to appointments. Patients’ existing Vail Health EMR records will not appear in their new MyChart account. Please send patients to our FAQ o Cómo Hacer pages to learn how to download important message, results or imaging from their current Vail Health EMR.
Historical Vail Health records will continue to be maintained in accordance with medical record retention policies and can be accessed through established medical records request processes when needed. This process can be initiated by you utilizing a “Patient Request” as is currently required.
Yes. Providers outside of Vail Health can continue to access historical patient records through the established medical records request process. Vail Health’s existing medical records systems will remain operational through December 31, 2026, followed by read-only access for authorized Vail Health staff through October 31, 2027. After the legacy systems are retired, historical records will be maintained in a clinical archive. The process for requesting records from Vail Health will remain unchanged.
As part of the transition to Epic, Vail Health will sunset its current Cerner and Veradigm electronic medical records.
