Dr. Martin has attracted patients not only from the Vail Valley, but also from across the country and around the world. Simplifying the process of destination surgery, Dr. Martin and his team help each patient enjoy the ambiance of Vail and Beaver Creek in any season while planning and recovering from reconstructive surgery. Conveniently located in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, our in-patient procedures are performed at Vail Health Hospital. Patients should plan to relax and recover for seven to 10 days after a procedure.

Reconstructive surgery is performed on abnormal structures of the body, caused by congenital defects, developmental abnormalities, trauma, infection, tumors or disease. It is generally performed to improve functionality, but may also be done to achieve a more normal appearance. Dr. Jason Martin is a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstructive surgery. Reconstructive surgery is not only meant to improve physical appearance, but has psychological benefits as well, and is thought to promote a sense of wellness. Each patient's unique goals, lifestyle and medical history are considered when determining the appropriate surgery.
Reconstructive surgery may be covered by health insurance policies, although coverage for specific procedures and levels of coverage may vary greatly.
Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape normal structures of the body to improve the patient's appearance and self-esteem. It is not covered by health insurance.
Shaw Cancer Center is a service of Vail Health Hospital.
