El futuro de la medicina deportiva regenerativa es ahora y est\u00e1 sucediendo aqu\u00ed mismo en Vail. Originario de Quebec, es el ex Vicepresidente de Terap\u00e9utica Celular Musculoesquel\u00e9tica de la Universidad de Pittsburgh y es mundialmente reconocido en los campos de la investigaci\u00f3n con c\u00e9lulas madre y la medicina regenerativa.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Su nombramiento representa una asociaci\u00f3n \u00fanica entre SPRI y el Centro de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad de Texas. Teniendo eso como base, el Dr. Philippon est\u00e1 llevando la investigaci\u00f3n hacia la medicina regenerativa y traslacional y logrando avances tremendos en el campo de la cirug\u00eda ortop\u00e9dica\".<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEl Instituto ya estaba realizando trabajos con plasma rico en plaquetas y biolog\u00eda celular. Los m\u00e9dicos eran los cirujanos ortop\u00e9dicos m\u00e1s importantes del mundo y se estaban arriesgando debido a sus enfoques innovadores.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CAPACIDAD DE TRASLADO DE LABORATORIO A LA PR\u00c1CTICA CL\u00cdNICA<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Dr. Huard dice que otro factor en su decisi\u00f3n de unirse a SPRI fue su capacidad para llevar r\u00e1pidamente una nueva terapia desde el laboratorio de investigaci\u00f3n hasta el lado del paciente. Cita como ejemplo un ensayo cl\u00ednico con un agente anti-cicatrizante llamado losart\u00e1n.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El Dr. Philippon se estaba preparando para realizar una cirug\u00eda, y el Dr. Huard sugiri\u00f3 que (con la aprobaci\u00f3n del paciente) le recetara losart\u00e1n despu\u00e9s de la operaci\u00f3n. Lo hizo y el paciente respondi\u00f3 bien.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEse tipo de agilidad desde el laboratorio hasta la cama del paciente no habr\u00eda sido posible en una instituci\u00f3n m\u00e1s grande\u201d, afirma el Dr. Huard.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CUATRO INVESTIGACIONES<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La investigaci\u00f3n inicial del Dr. Huard en el SPRI implica cuatro investigaciones. La primera eval\u00faa los efectos del ejercicio y la estimulaci\u00f3n neuromuscular\/masaje en la reparaci\u00f3n de tejidos.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El segundo se enfoca en retrasar la degeneraci\u00f3n articular mediante la inyecci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas madre adultas y otros biol\u00f3gicos. Su equipo quiere dar respuesta a la pregunta: \u201c\u00bfPueden las c\u00e9lulas madre ser el kit de reparaci\u00f3n definitivo para el cuerpo?\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El tercer estudio es una colaboraci\u00f3n entre el Dr. Huard, el Dr. Philippon y el Dr. Robert LaPrade, quienes inyectaron plasma rico en plaquetas (PRP) en pacientes seleccionados de cadera y rodilla para ayudarles a sanar m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido. Los m\u00e9dicos\/investigadores creen que la combinaci\u00f3n de PRP con las c\u00e9lulas madre de los pacientes acelerar\u00e1 significativamente el proceso de curaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La cuarta iniciativa consiste en medir los efectos de los agentes anti-cicatrizaci\u00f3n en la reparaci\u00f3n de tejidos. Reducir significativamente las cicatrices podr\u00eda crear una recuperaci\u00f3n mucho m\u00e1s satisfactoria y r\u00e1pida.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">APLICACIONES PR\u00c1CTICAS<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cEs posible que en un a\u00f1o veamos algunas de las aplicaciones avanzadas de PRF\u201d, dice el Dr. Huard. \u201cCon c\u00e9lulas madre, ya hemos visto resultados positivos en 12 pacientes para reparar tejido card\u00edaco y en 400 pacientes para reducir disfunciones de la vejiga. Debido a los avances en otras \u00e1reas, podr\u00edamos ir m\u00e1s r\u00e1pido en medicina deportiva\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">El cronograma del Dr. Huard para el Laboratorio de Medicina Deportiva Regenerativa en SPRI es espec\u00edfico. \u201cPara fines del primer a\u00f1o, queremos que el laboratorio est\u00e9 bien financiado, sea completamente funcional y haya producido publicaciones para mostrarle a la gente lo que estamos haciendo\u201d. La innovaci\u00f3n cient\u00edfica ha contribuido a un aumento de 47 a\u00f1os en 1900 a casi 80 a\u00f1os hoy en d\u00eda. La investigaci\u00f3n que se est\u00e1 llevando a cabo en SPRI tiene el potencial de acelerar esa tendencia.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A largo plazo, el Dr. Huard prev\u00e9 que las personas tengan la oportunidad de recolectar sus propias c\u00e9lulas madre, preferiblemente a una edad temprana.
