El centro oncol\u00f3gico, ubicado en Edwards, fue reconocido por la Quality Oncology Practice Initiative (QOPI\u00ae) por su compromiso con la excelencia y la mejora continua de la calidad.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCreemos que las familias de nuestra comunidad y regi\u00f3n merecen la mejor atenci\u00f3n contra el c\u00e1ncer posible\u201d, dijo Doris Kirchner, presidenta y directora ejecutiva del Vail Valley Medical Center, del cual Shaw y el Sonnenalp Breast Center son departamentos ambulatorios. \u201cEl reconocimiento de nuestros colegas y expertos en el cuidado de la salud valida a\u00fan m\u00e1s que estamos cumpliendo nuestra misi\u00f3n de brindar servicios excepcionales a todos a quienes servimos\u201d.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">QOPI, integrado por onc\u00f3logos acad\u00e9micos y expertos en calidad, incorpora medidas y est\u00e1ndares basados en gu\u00edas cl\u00ednicas y normas publicadas para la atenci\u00f3n oncol\u00f3gica de calidad. Shaw cuenta con una tasa de supervivencia a cinco a\u00f1os de 97% para pacientes con c\u00e1ncer de mama en estadio I, casi 5% mayor que el promedio nacional, y una tasa de supervivencia a cinco a\u00f1os de 96% para el c\u00e1ncer de pr\u00f3stata, 8% por encima del promedio nacional.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shaw tambi\u00e9n recibi\u00f3 recientemente la prestigiosa acreditaci\u00f3n de tres a\u00f1os de la Commission on Cancer (CoC) con felicitaci\u00f3n, el nivel m\u00e1s alto que se puede lograr en una inspecci\u00f3n. El Sonnenalp Breast Center ha sido galardonado con el Premio a la Excelencia en Imagen de Mama del Colegio Americano de Radiolog\u00eda (ACR), la acreditaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s alta que pueden obtener los centros de imagen de mama.
