Gretchen obtuvo una Licenciatura en Nutrici\u00f3n y Ciencias del Ejercicio de Concordia College en Moorhead, MN. Complet\u00f3 su Internado Diet\u00e9tico y obtuvo una Maestr\u00eda en Ciencias en Nutrici\u00f3n de Colorado State University en 1999. Se convirti\u00f3 en Especialista Certificada en Cuidado y Educaci\u00f3n de la Diabetes en 2002.<\/p>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gretchen comenz\u00f3 su carrera trabajando en un Centro de Diabetes en Longview, Washington, y r\u00e1pidamente se dedic\u00f3 a su pasi\u00f3n por trabajar con personas con diabetes. A lo largo de sus 25 a\u00f1os trabajando como educadora en diabetes y dietista, ha desempe\u00f1ado diversos cargos cl\u00ednicos y de investigaci\u00f3n. Gretchen ha adoptado la tecnolog\u00eda para la diabetes y es una entrenadora certificada en bombas de insulina. Trabaja arduamente para hacer que la diabetes sea m\u00e1s manejable ofreciendo apoyo y orientaci\u00f3n en un mundo que puede parecer ajeno a los pacientes reci\u00e9n diagnosticados, as\u00ed como a aquellos que han vivido con ella durante a\u00f1os. Gretchen tambi\u00e9n ha desarrollado y dirigido varios programas de control de peso y disfruta dirigiendo clases y grupos de apoyo donde sus pacientes pueden aprender unos de otros.
