Athletic Trainers for High School Sports

Howard Head Sports Medicine and The Steadman Clinic have worked closely together for over 30 years. This long standing relationship has provided a valuable community service through The Steadman Athletic Training Residency and the high school athletic training program. Since the program’s inception in 1996, over 100 athletic trainers have graduation from the program and impacted countless youth athletes in the Vail Valley.

Howard Head Sports Medicine is proud to partner with The Steadman Clinic to provide athletic trainers daily in covering three local high schools; Eagle Valley High School, Battle Mountain High School and Vail Mountain School. An athletic trainer at each school provides injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning for our local athletes. The athletic trainers provide emergency first aid and ongoing injury management for those athletes that are injured during practices, games, and sporting events.

Education and prevention of sports related injury is the most important aspect of the athletic trainers daily duties. The core of this exceptional program is the commitment Howard Head Sports Medicine and The Steadman Clinic have to improving the health of our local youth and to keeping them safe and healthy while they reach their full athletic potential.
