Roles based outside of our primary office can sit in any of the following states: AZ, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, KS, MA, MD, MI, MN, NC, NJ, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and WI. POSITION PURPOSE:
Responsible for oversight and guidance of the clinical support functions. Including, but not limited to, training new and existing staff, providing leadership as a resource to others, and completing administrative duties that assist in the management of patient care across the clinic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Trains new clinical staff on departmental specific workflows (including new protocols or workflows), procedures, and processes (team model). May cross train other clinical personnel as directed.
- Provides clinical leadership of the team by overseeing clinical aspects of patient care.
- Provide guidance to team members/clinical assistants with prioritization of patient care, messages, and triage while continuing to foster independence.
- Independently handles incoming inquiries from patients via phone, portal message and in office.
- Assists providers and other clinical staff with examinations, procedures, and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Performs venipunctures, administers injections, and initiates intravenous therapy.
- Arranges for provider ordered diagnostics or therapeutic services.
- Ensures cleanliness, adequate stock of supplies and functioning equipment in examination rooms. Replaces supplies depleted on a daily basis.
- Follows established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, OSHA Rules and Regulations, environmental and infection control standards.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Registered Nurse preferred.
- Medical Assistant, Emergency Medical Technician, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse licensing/certification required.
- Cardiopulmonary Recitation (CPR) certification.
- 2 years’ experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties required.
- Ability to effectively organize resources, establish priorities and perform multiple tasks.
- Professionalism and ability to be discreet with confidential and sensitive issues.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Displays strong verbal/written communication and organization skills.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance and OSHA rules and regulations.
