Pay Range: Min: $51.58 Max: $77.37. Pay is based upon relevant education and experience.

Position Purpose:

The Intensive Outpatient Psychologist serves as the clinical lead for the Adult Services within our Intensive Outpatient Specialty Clinic. Under the supervision of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Director, this position will develop clinical curriculum and ensure effective clinical delivery aligned with all state, local, federal, and regulatory requirements. The Adult Psychologist will serve as primary site supervisor for the Student Training program for both APA predoctoral internships or Postdoctoral Fellowships. The WFMHC Psychologist will serve as provider lead to ensure workforce satisfaction, while also balancing clinical productivity, revenue capture, quality patient care, provider support/workforce enjoyment, and regulatory compliance.  

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Under the direction of the Outpatient Behavioral Health Director, the Intensive Outpatient Specialty Psychologist will serve as the Lead Clinician providing direct, intensive clinical services within the specialty clinic for the adult patient population.
  2. Maintains a caseload of approximately 32 billable hours per week.
  3. The Intensive Outpatient Specialty Psychologist will be responsible for clinical curriculum development, clinic workflow, curriculum quality, and ensuring clinical compliance with all internal, state, federal and regulatory standards of care. Develop sustainable clinical protocols to prioritize the need of those with severe and persistent mental illness.
  4. Ensure programming is aligned with EVBH’s principles of care.
  5. Ensure data is collected and disseminated to the Office of Behavioral Health, CDPHE, and other entities as applicable.
  6. Ensure comprehensive discharge plans for all patients with a prioritization of community disposition in the least restrictive environment indicated.
  7. Ensure programming of the WFMHC creates a barrier-free opportunity for our most vulnerable members of the community to access services targeting intensive intervention and emotional stabilization.
  8. Ensure all clinical programs and delivery is trauma-informed, cultural responsive, and aligned with unique community population needs.
  9. Oversee all behavioral health staff and act as clinical supervisor or clinical consultant as needed.
  10. Ensure clinical and administrative compliance with student training programs, workforce pipeline strategies, and early career support.
  11. Role models the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant.

Experience:

  • Specific knowledge, training, and demonstrated expertise in Rural Mental Health Service Provision or Community Mental Health Psychology.
  • 2 years progressive leadership experience in community behavioral health, community mental health, or related behavioral health experience required.
  • Understanding of Colorado laws and regulations as they relate to behavioral health providers.
  • Experience with developing strategies to ensure accurate and timely data collection and data reporting.
  • Psychologist license by the state of Colorado required Certification(s) with 2 years of applicable behavioral health experience.
  • 2 years of experience in a nonprofit organization, foundation, or government agency in positions of progressively increasing responsibility.
  • A personal presence which is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals and values of Vail Health.
  • Strong customer-service focus; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a proven ability to work patiently, persuasively and effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Superior organizational skills; a work style that is thorough, accurate and detail-oriented; the ability to follow through on projects with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work well within the organizational structure

Education:

  • Doctoral degree in psychology
  • Completion of American Psychological Association (APA) accredited internship
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship preferred

License(s):

  • State of Colorado Licensed Psychologist required; License eligible within 6 months of hire may be considered.
